Western Colorado's terrain and weather have produced ideal grape–growing country for more than a century. Nationally, Colorado is considered one of the finest emerging wine regions. Here in the West Elks, Orchard Valley Farms has been supplying some of Delta County's finest wineries with grapes since 1997.
In 2005 we introduced the premier vintage of our own wines. Named for the nearby historic bridge, Black Bridge Winery produces a limited number of wines each year. Our offerings include classic reds and red blends of Pinot Noir, Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon; and whites of Chardonnay, and Riesling. Some are big, some are fruity, and all are delicious.
Our wine cave – the site of winemaking and barrel-tasting events – is a bit unusual. The cave's structural steel framework was recycled from an old local mining operation. Completed in 2007, we like how it gives new life to our area's history.
Because our wines are produced in limited quantities, the wines you've sampled in our tasting room may be difficult to find elsewhere. While we encourage you to stock up at the tasting room, you can also purchase Black Bridge wines online and through our Wine Club.
